This workshop is designed to help small businesses and lean teams better understand how to leverage Facebook as a marketing tool. You will leave this workshop as an industry-ready social media marketer who can develop compelling Facebook content and campaigns without the cost of hiring an expert.

At the workshop you will:

  • Understand the steps to develop a Facebook strategy and begin the early stages of your own strategy
  • Build ads in Facebook Ads Manager
  • Learn how to tailor posts for increased engagement and impressions
  • Leverage photos and videos for content creation


Matt Kaskavitch (CASS-KUH-VITCH) is regarded as one of the original innovators in the field of digital marketing and social media. An alumnus of the University of Wisconsin, Matt created his own degree from scratch; a degree program that would become one of the first digital marketing degrees in the United States. He’s been featured as a social media expert in media outlets like CNN, CCTV America, 9News, Denver 7, Fox 31 and the Denver Post.

Having consulted with small businesses to large corporations, he currently leads social media and digital engagement strategy for the University of Colorado Denver and the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus where he also holds a faculty appointment in the Department of Communication.

This workshop is designed for small business owners or lean marketing teams in businesses, organizations, non profits or other groups who are looking to become Facebook ad pros.


The cost of this workshop is $325 per person and includes lunch.

9:10 A.M. – Why Facebook and why have a strategy?

10:15 A.M. – BREAK

10:20 A.M. – Exercise: Building fundamentals of social strategy


12:30 P.M. – Producing visual and written content for Facebook

1:30 P.M. – Written content exercise

2 P.M. – BREAK

2:05 P.M. – Facebook Ads: How to create an ad and best target your customers

3:05 P.M. – Walk through the setup of a standard Facebook ad


The program is delivered by CU South Denver (10035 S. Peoria St., Lone Tree, CO 80134). Located one mile east of I-25 along Lincoln Ave. There is plenty of free parking available.

Please note that this program is offered as a non-credit course and will not appear on any CU transcripts or apply towards any degree programs.
