Everything You Need to Know About Litigation

Join us to gain a better understanding of the trial process and whether or not to pursue or defend a lawsuit. Most people find the legal system boring and confusing–with good reason. But lawsuits do not need to be a mystery, and the 1992 film My Cousin Vinny provides a window into trial strategy, evidence, and procedure. Patrick O’Rourke, the University of Colorado’s general counsel and an experienced litigator, with the aid of Joe Pesci and Marissa Tomei, will break down the film and use it to help you understand how a trial works.

Patrick O’Rourke is the Vice President, University Counsel, Secretary of the Board of Regents of the University of Colorado and an adjunct faculty member at the University of Colorado School of Law and University of Colorado School of Public Health, regularly teaching in the fields of advocacy and ethics.

The EduTalks Series serves up interactive, stimulating and mind-expanding professional education from leading University of Colorado subject matter experts. Discover new insights to help you lead, build business and inspire teams – all over a chef prepared world-class lunch.
